Ombadja is a district in Angola , in southwest Africa .
history
Under Portuguese colonial administration , the district was called Santa Clara. It has had its current name since Angola's independence in 1975.

Ombadja is a district ( Município ) in the province of Cunene . The district has around 148,000 inhabitants (2012 estimate) on an area of 16,270 km². From now on, the 2014 census should provide reliable population data.
The county seat is in Xangongo .
