Caimauc Quic ( Caimauc, Caimau ) is a small East Timorese town in Suco Faturasa ( Remexio administrative office , Aileu municipality ). In 1936 the Portuguese renamed the place Nova Portel , sometimes incorrectly spelled Nova Portal . But the name did not catch on and a few years after the Second World War , the old name was reverted to.

geography

It is located 26 km southeast of the state capital Dili and 24 km east of the community capital Aileu . Caimauc Quic is 460 meters above sea level.

history

As Caimau , it was one of the two traditional empires in Remexio that were ruled by a Liurai . It appears in a Portuguese list of 47 Liurai empires from 1868.
