Beaches and bays in Mallorca |
Cala Petita is a small bay with a sandy beach on the east coast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the east of the municipality of Manacor between the towns of Porto Cristo and S'Illot - Cala Morlanda .
Location and description
The Cala Petita is located about one kilometer east of the closed local buildings of Porto Cristo, southeast of the highway MA-4023 between Porto Cristo and Cala Millor . It is an elongated sea inlet between the Sa Ferradura rock cape in the southwest and the northeastern sea inlet Racó de s'Home Mort . About 1.5 kilometers northeast is the Cala Morlanda with the secondary bay Caló d'en Rafalino . The landscape behind the Cala Petita is as it Mitjà de Mar referred.
The beach of Cala Petita, made of sand mixed with rubble and individual larger stones, is only about 20 meters long and flanked by rocks that form a cliff coast towards the bay exit . Due to a bend in the middle of the bay from the southeast to the east to the open sea, it cannot be seen from the beach. Behind the approximately 30-meter-wide beach, the terrain slowly rises in a rain run-off creek to the estates between the bay and the country road in the northwest. The surrounding vegetation is partly made up of shrubs and low trees as well as pine forests .
Access
From the street Avinguda de Cala Petita on the eastern edge of Porto Cristo, a narrow path leads along the border of the northwest lies the estate after it Mitja de Mar . After crossing two brick pillars of a former gate, a curved path goes off to the right, which ends somewhat sloping at the bay of Cala Petita . The path is about 900 meters long in total.
