The California State Route 133 (abbreviated CA 133 or SR 133 ) is a running north-south direction State Route in the US state of California . The 13.6 mile (21.9 km) road connects California State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) in Laguna Beach with California State Route 241 in Irvine . North of the junction with Interstate 405 , the road is known as the Laguna Freeway .

The section north of California State Route 73 is part of the California Freeway and Expressway System .

California State Route 133 begins on California State Route 1 (Pacific Coast Highway) in Laguna Beach , just a few meters from the Pacific Ocean . The route follows Broadway Street through the city center. In Laguna Canyon the CA 133 joins the Laguna Canyon Road. The road narrows to two lanes. After crossing the valley, which is surrounded to the west by Laguna Coast Wilderness Park and to the east by Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park , the junction with County Route S18 is reached. At the interface with California State Route 73 , CA 133 widens to four lanes and becomes a highway .

Shortly afterwards the Laguna Canyon Road swings northwest to the exit of the valley at Irvine . North of Laguna Woods Wilderness Park, the road becomes the Laguna Freeway and intersects Interstate 405 . From the exit to Interstate 5 , CA 133 is a toll road . It continues past the abandoned Marine Corps Air Station El Toro and ends on California State Route 241 .
