The California State Route 15 (abbreviated CA 15 ) is a state highway in the US state of California , the North-South direction runs in.
The State Route begins on Interstate 5 in San Diego and ends at the intersection between Intersates 8 and 15 . It meets Interstate 805 and California State Route 94 .
From 1934 until the numbers were reassigned in 1964, the CA 15 ran from San Pedro to Pasadena . This route then became California State Route 7 .
From the intersection with I-8 and I-15, the street follows 40th Street and Wabash Boulevard . The last section was only completed in 2001. Until then, the State Route was often called the 40th Street Freeway .
The road may be upgraded to I-15 after the intersection with the CA 94 is upgraded to Interstate standards in 2008. At the moment, for example, there are still exits that do not meet the requirements of the interstates.
