As far as possible and customary, SI units are used. Unless otherwise noted, the data given apply to standard conditions . |
Californium (III) oxychloride (CfOCl) was prepared by hydrolysis of the hydrate of californium (III) chloride (CfCl 3 ) at 280-320 ° C. It has a tetragonal structure (PbFCl type) with a = 395.6 ± 0.2 pm and c = 666.2 ± 0.9 pm.
The enthalpy of solution of CfOCl in 1.022 M hydrochloric acid (HCl) was measured calorimetrically according to the equation: CfOCl (cr) + 2 HCl (sln) → CfCl 3 (sln) + H 2 O (sln) . The standard enthalpy of formation (Δ f H 0 ) at 298 K was calculated to be −920 ± 7 kJ mol −1 .
safety instructions
Classifications according to the CLP regulation are not available because they only include chemical hazard and play a completely subordinate role compared to the hazards based on radioactivity . The latter also only applies if the amount of substance involved is relevant.
