Calystegia peirsonii is a plant type from the genus of calystegia ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is endemic to California .

description

Calystegia peirsonii is a perennial plant that forms a rhizome as a perennial organ. The plant is more or less hairless and coated in blue-green. The branches are prostrate to weakly climbing and are up to 40 cm long. The leaf blade is narrowly triangular, lobed and less than 2 cm long. The lobes are sometimes the same length as the leaf blade, they are widest at the tip, they are usually conspicuously two-pointed, they form a rounded to more or less rectangular arch.

The inflorescence stalks have a length of 2 to 8 cm and are usually smaller than the accompanying leaves. The prophylls are 3 to 7 mm long, 2.5 to 4 mm wide, elliptical to broadly elongated, entire, flat and are 0 to 3 mm below the calyx and overlap it. The sepals are 9 to 13 mm long , the crown is white and 25 to 40 mm long.

distribution

The species is only known from the north of California's San Gabriel Mountains and the opposite Mojave Desert . It grows there on rocky slopes at altitudes between 1000 and 1500 m.
