Cameron Bernard Porter (born May 23, 1993 in Centerville, Ohio , United States ) is an American football player who is used as a striker . He is currently under contract with Sporting Kansas City .

Career

youth

While at Miami Valley School , Porter played for the school's selection team, for which he scored 98 goals. He was nominated for various national teams.

Porter then attended Princeton University , where he was also nominated for the university's selection team. He played a total of four seasons in which he scored 31 goals and 13 assists . In 2014 Porter was named ECAC Offensive Player of the Year .

Club career

In the MLS SuperDraft , Porter was selected by the Canadian franchise Montreal Impact and signed on February 7th. Porter played his first competitive game on February 24, 2015 in Montreal's game against CF Pachuca in the CONCACAF Champions League . On March 3, 2015, he was back in the game against Pachuca on the pitch and scored his first goal for the franchise in the 93rd minute.

In the game on March 21 against New England Revolution Porter was on the starting line-up, but injured his knee in the 20th minute of the game and had to be replaced. After surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament , Porter was out for the remainder of the 2015 season .

On July 12, 2016, he was given in exchange for Amadou Dia to Sporting Kansas City .
