Camila Colombo Seré (born June 4, 1990 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan chess player .

Life

Camila Colombo is a student at the Faculty of Humanities and Education at the Universidad de la República , the largest university in Uruguay, and works as a chess teacher.

She plays club chess for the Club Banco República from Montevideo, of which she has been a member since 1998. She is trained by the Uruguayan international champion Bernardo Roselli Mailhe .

successes

In 2007 she won the South American U-18 Championship for women in Federación, Argentina . She won the Uruguayan women's singles championship in Montevideo seven times (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014), and was runner-up twice (2006 in Paysandú behind Leticia Vilariño and 2011 in Montevideo behind Patricia de León ). In 2010, Camila Colombo won the Uruguayan U-20 championship for male and female youth in Montevideo.

For the Uruguayan women's national team, Camila Colombo played on the top board at the 2008 Chess Olympiads in Dresden , 2012 in Istanbul and 2014 in Tromsø .

For her result of six points from ten games at the 2008 Chess Olympiad, she received the title of FIDE Women's Champion (WFM).
