Campana website

Campana is a city in eastern Argentina , in the province of Buenos Aires . It is located on the Río Paraná de las Palmas, 75 km from the city of Buenos Aires and only 20 m above sea level. The international Panamericana road connects Campana with Buenos Aires, Rosario , Córdoba and the north of Argentina. The area is 982 km² and the population is approx. 84,000 (census INDEC 2001).

Campana was founded on July 6, 1885. The brothers Luis and Eduardo Costa are considered to be the founders. In 1580, Captain Luis de Águila built a hut in the "Cañada de la Cruz" zone. This is considered to be the oldest date on which the place was known. In 1759 it was renamed "Rincón de Campana".

The urban character is marked by the metal industry and oil refinery . Internationally important companies such as Esso , Tenaris-Siderca and Toyota are located here.
