Campus & City Radio St. Pölten is a study gangs-cross training radio the Fachhochschule St. Pölten in Austria , which according to the principle of the free radios working Austria. history

In the spring of 2001, students in the Telecommunications and Media course set up the FH-Radio web radio . A few months later, in October 2001, a relaunch took place under the name phon . At the same time the idea arose to found a terrestrial radio station . So that this idea could be put into practice, Andreas Hasenzagl, Matthias Stadler , Martin Holovlasky and Christian Jungwirth founded the association for the creation and operation of independent university radio stations in St. Pölten in March 2002 . On April 30, 2002, the terrestrial training radio began broadcasting under the name FH-Radio 94.4 . Exactly one year later, on April 30, 2003, another restart took place under the new logo and the new name Campus Radio 94.4 . In order to prepare students for voluntary work, job rotation was introduced in October 2003 as a basis for training. In November 2005, the organization of Campus Radio 94.4 was restructured and Alexander Hovorka was appointed as managing director of the association .

In 2009 the radio was restructured again and the "Mira" project started, which gave the citizens of St. Pölten open access to the media. Alois Huber took over the management. From the Mira project, "City Radio" developed in 2010, which resulted in a renaming of the station name to "Campus & City Radio St. Pölten".

In 2011, Ewald Volk took over the economic management of Campus & City Radio.

This team provides the moderators with the know-how for dealing with technology and social skills for moderation. Another task is to ensure that broadcasts are adhered to and that all moderators behave according to the studio rules. There are regular evaluations in order to offer the listeners a professional radio.

technology

In the interests of future-proof training, an almost fully digital studio environment was created. In addition, devices that can also be found in commercial studio environments were used almost exclusively.

Likewise, attention is paid to compatibility with material already available in the technical college courses in order to have backup solutions on the one hand and to be able to train in parallel to ongoing broadcasting on the other.
