The Canadian Soccer League ( CSL ) is a semi-professional Canadian soccer league .

It was originally sanctioned by the Canadian Soccer Association , but was then adopted by the Soccer Federation of Canada (SFC). Thus it is not in the official league system of Canada.

Until May 2006, the league was called the Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPSL) . Only teams from the Southern Ontario region play in it.

The Canadian Soccer League also has a reserve league, the CSL Reserve Division, which has existed since 2009.

mode

A season runs annually from April / May to October / November. The league consists of 14 teams, which are led in a single table. Each team plays 26 games, each with a home and return game against the other teams. The eight best clubs then compete against each other in the play-offs to play the Givova Cup (until 2010 Rogers Cup). The games in the quarter-finals of the play-offs will be played in two games. Only one game will be played in the semifinals and finals.
