The Candy Mountain is a hill just outside of West Richland in Benton County in the State of Washington . Candy Mountain rises above the Tri-Cities between Badger Mountain in the south and Red Mountain in the north.
Candy Mountain is connected to Badger Mountain via the Goose Gap . There is an easy road to the top as well as the remains of an old radio tower. Friends of Badger Mountain , a nonprofit , raised funds and sought permits to purchase 200 acres (81 hectares) of land around Candy Mountain in order to create new hiking trails that would connect the hill to Badger Mountain.
Hiking trails
There is a hiking trail that starts on the east side of the hill and leads to the top. The 1.4 mi (2.3 km) trail is quite steep but can be done in 20 minutes. Along the climb there are several apparent peaks that one can seek out only to find that the summit has not yet been reached.
