The Capanna Giuseppe Cavinato is a bivouac hut on the Cima d'Asta in Trentino . It belongs to the Trentino Mountaineering Association (SAT) and has 2 beds.
location
The bivouac hut is located at an altitude of 2840 m slm on the southwest flank of the Cima d'Asta just a few meters below the summit cross in a panoramic position.
history
Built out of stone hut was in 1969 by the Section Padua of the Alpine Club Assocazione Alpinistica Giovane Montagna opened and the founding member of the Section Giuseppe Cavinato dedicated. It was built on the remains of an Italian war barracks from the First World War , by the Alpini - battalion had been built Val Brenta and as a shelter for the artillery observers served on the Cima d'Asta. Originally it did not have any sleeping places and was used as an emergency shelter for six people.
In 2009 the Tesino section of the SAT took over the hut and equipped it with two beds.
