Caraá is a rural municipality with around 8,200 (2018 estimate) inhabitants in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 95 km east of Porto Alegre . Neighboring are the places Osório , Riozinho , Maquiné and Santo Antônio da Patrulha . Caraá was originally part of the municipality of Santo Antônio da Patrulha.
