Maquiné is a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . It is located about 135 km northeast of Porto Alegre . The towns of São Francisco de Paula , Riozinho , Osório , Terra de Areia , Xangri-lá , Capão da Canoa and Caraá are neighboring . Maquiné was originally part of the Osório municipality.
