Emilio Carballido
Emilio Carballido (born May 22, 1925 in Orizaba , Veracruz ; † February 11, 2008 in Xalapa , Veracruz) was a Mexican playwright and screenwriter .
He was considered the most important author of contemporary Mexican theater in the 20th century. Carballido edited the anthology series Teatro joven de México and worked, among other things, at the Escuela de Arte Teatral del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City . He also wrote over 20 scripts. He was a member of the Academia de Artes in Mexico City. In 2002 he was awarded the Ariel de Oro film prize for his life's work.
