Carl-Albrecht Bartmer

Carl-Albrecht Bartmer (born February 13, 1961 in Lingen an der Ems) is a German farmer . From 2006 to 2018 he was President of the German Agricultural Society (DLG).

Live and act

After graduating from high school and doing an agricultural apprenticeship, Carl-Albrecht Bartmer studied agricultural sciences at the Georg-August University in Göttingen from 1984 to 1989 . After graduating, he was qualified as a Dipl.-Ing. agr. worked for two years as an administrator on a seed breeding farm in Schleswig-Holstein .

Since 1991, Carl-Albrecht Bartmer has been managing an arable farm in Saxony-Anhalt with an area of around 1,000 hectares, which was owned by the family from 1735 until the end of the Second World War , initially as a lease. In 1999 and 2002 he was able to buy back essential parts of the former grandfather's business.

In January 2006 he was elected President of the DLG and confirmed in this office in 2009, 2012 and 2015. In 2018 he decided not to run again.

He is married, has four children and lives in Löbnitz an der Bode .
