Carl-Heinz Stephan (born November 27, 1904 in Schomberg , district of Beuthen , Province of Silesia , † August 8, 1989 ) was a German mining manager.

Life

Carl-Heinz Stephan studied mining at the Bergakademie in Clausthal ( Clausthal University of Technology ) and at the Technical University of Wroclaw . He then completed a state training in the mountain administration service as a mountain trainee in the upper mining authority districts of Breslau and Dortmund; In 1932 he passed his state examination and was appointed mountain assessor. In 1932 he changed to the management of the Graeflich Schaffgotsch'sche Werke in Gleiwitz , a company of the industrialist Hans Ulrich von Schaffgotsch . From 1932 to 1934 he was assistant director at the Gräfin-Johanna-Schachtanlage coal mine in Bobrek near Beuthen, and from 1935 its mine director. In 1938 he commissioned the first fully mechanized German hard coal mine , the Berve mine , which was built according to his designs. In 1940 he became Dr.-Ing. From 1964 to 1966 he was chairman of the board of the Emschergenossenschaft in Essen. In 1966, Carl-Heinz Stephan was appointed chairman of the board of Rheinstahl Bergbau AG. He had numerous supervisory and advisory board mandates.

In 1931 he published a patent on compliant pit lining .

In 1959 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Nicola Cardinal Canali and invested in Fulda Cathedral on September 26, 1959 by Archbishop Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the Order. Most recently he was a Grand Officer of the Order.
