Carl-Thiersch-Strasse 5
The building at Carl-Thiersch-Straße 5 in Erlangen , a large city in the Central Franconian administrative region of the Free State of Bavaria , was built in 1900. The former guard and detention building of the artillery barracks is a protected architectural monument .
For the exemplary renovation of the two-storey hipped roof building with a turret , which has a clock and an onion hood, Helga and Hans Wilhelm Schüßler were awarded the monument protection medal of the State of Bavaria in 2001.
Since the renovation, the building has served as the guest house of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg .
