Carl Ambros

Carl Ambros (born June 11, 1870 in Pfullendorf in Baden , † April 30, 1932 in Landshut ) was a German agriculture teacher and animal breeder.

Life

Carl Ambros studied at the Weihenstephan Central Agricultural School . In 1890 he became a member of the Corps Agronomia there . After completing his studies, in 1894 he became a teacher at the agricultural district winter school in Freiburg im Breisgau . In the years 1895 and 1897 he traveled abroad for further training. In 1898 he became a teacher at the Weiden agricultural school in Upper Palatinate and subsequently at the Amberg agricultural school . From 1911 until his death in 1932 he was director of the Schönbrunn district arable farming school . In 1916 he was appointed director, in 1917 professor and in 1923 senior director of studies.

In addition to his work as a teacher and headmaster, Ambros made special contributions to promoting pig and poultry farming . He reformed the Schönbrunn poultry farm to become the first district poultry facility in Lower Bavaria .
