Carl August Friedrich Liberati , actually Carl August Friedrich von Zieten ( January 5, 1784 in Neubrandenburg - January 19, 1844 in Berlin ) was a German military, theater actor and opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Liberati initially served in the military. However, to support his poor family, he went to the theater. He was first engaged in Berlin, where he worked both as an actor and as a singer.

On September 1, 1805 he made his debut in Weimarals Infant von Spanien . Although his contract ran until 1808, a year later he asked the theater director Johann Wolfgang von Goethe to dissolve because of important family events. He left Weimar on February 18, 1806. He went back to the army as a captain in Bavarian service .

A few years later he resigned again and turned back to the theater. His voice, meanwhile trained by Joseph Karl Ambrosch and Friedrich Eunicke , had strengthened and improved. He was director of the court theater in Wiesbaden and Kassel.
