Carl Baierl

Carl Baierl , also Karl Baierl (born June 11, 1896 in Vienna ; † 1977 ) was an Austro-German comedian and popular actor .

Live and act

Baierl trained as a goldsmith , after which he took acting lessons. Born in Vienna, he came to Munich in 1918, where he appeared as a cabaret artist, folk actor and character comedian on theaters there. Afterwards, Carl Baierl was a member of the ensemble of the Platzl cabaret for many years . Since 1952 he has been in front of the camera (for film and television). There he embodied mostly Bavarian and rural types, initially mainly in homeland movie casts.

Four years after his death, the Carl-Baierl-Bogen was named after him in the Neuperlach district of Munich .
