Carl Bauer (administrative lawyer)

Carl Bauer (born November 29, 1876 in Heilbronn , † October 1947 in Riedlingen ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Bauer studied law in Tübingen and Berlin . In Tübingen he became a member of the Scotland team . Afterwards he worked as a lawyer and from August 1909 as a public prosecutor in Ravensburg. In 1913 he became senior government assessor in the Evangelical High School Board in Stuttgart. In 1914 he went into the field as first lieutenant of the Landwehr with the infantry regiment "Alt-Württemberg" (3rd Württembergisches) No. 121 and took part in battles near Munster (Haut-Rhin) . After being severely wounded, he was dismissed from the army as a captain in 1917 . In 1921 he was appointed to the senior government council and in 1923 to the ministerial councilor in the Württemberg Ministry of Churches and Schools, as head of the department for higher education. Due to his negative attitude towards the NSDAP , he was removed from this office in 1933. Due to the express request of the new religious administration, it was reused in that office in 1945.
