Carl Duval

Johann Christoph Carl Duval , also Karl Duval , (born May 19, 1807 in Nordhausen ; † August 19, 1853 ibid) was a German writer , painter and lithographer .

Life

Duval studied theology and was a tutor , later a man of letters . He became known in particular for his descriptions of the Eichsfeld and the southern Harz foreland, as well as for his lithographs that he made of this landscape.

In 1845 he was in Großbodungen well-known book The Eichsfeld or historical-romantic description of all cities, castles, monasteries, villages and other notable points of the Eichsfeld out that with skillful lithographs from his hand illustrated and even today as a standard work on the calibration field applies.
