Carl Eduard Conrad

Carl Eduard Conrad (born December 27, 1830 in Leschkirch , Kingdom of Hungary , † April 15, 1906 in Kronstadt ) was a Transylvanian politician , a member of the Royal Hungarian Diet in Budapest and a public notary public in Kronstadt.

Life

Carl Eduard Conrad came from a traditional Transylvanian family who had lived in Leschkirch (now around Nocrich) for centuries on their manor. His father Friedrich Georg Conrad (1795–1855), his grandfather Samuel Gottlieb Conrad (1753–1827) and his great-grandfather Georg Conrad (1712–1770) had achieved the high dignity of the royal judge and came from the family of Baron Michael Breckner von Brukenthal (1676 –1736), whose father was also a royal judge. Together with his wife Charlotte Wilhelmine Schullerus (* October 28, 1839; † September 25, 1918), an aunt of the Transylvanian poet and folklorist Eduard Schullerus (1877-1914), he undertook a trip to Vienna in 1873 on the occasion of the World's Fair , where he was a Wrote a diary, which is one of the first and most interesting documents of Transylvanian travel literature.
