Wilfried Lustik

Wilfried Lustik (born November 14, 1928 ; † March 16, 2009 in Dresden ) was a German police officer. From 1980 to 1990 he was head of the prison administration (VSV) of the Ministry of the Interior of the GDR (MdI).

Life

Lustik learned to be a baker from 1943 . He was drafted into the Reich Labor Service (RAD) and captured by the Red Army in May 1945 . However, because of his young age of 16, he was immediately released home.

Lustik joined the German People's Police (VP) in 1950 and the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in 1954 . From 1975 he was Deputy Operational of the Head of the Prison Administration (VSV). After the long-time head of the penal system, Hans Tunnat , had retired, he succeeded him on September 1, 1980. From 1976 to November 1989 he was headed by Department VII of the Ministry of State Security as an unofficial employee (IM). On June 22, 1982, he was appointed major general by Erich Honecker . Lustik was the head of the penal system until his retirement on April 7, 1990.

Lustik last lived in Dresden and was a member of the Society for Legal and Humanitarian Support . Lustik died at the age of 80.
