Carl Froschl
Carl Fröschl (born August 23, 1848 in Vienna ; † September 14, 1934 there ) was an Austrian portrait and genre painter.
Carl Fröschl studied from 1864 to 1869 at the Vienna Art Academy and from May 10, 1870 at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich with Wilhelm von Diez . In Munich he was influenced by Wilhelm von Kaulbach . He spent the winter months of 1874/75 and 1875/76 in Italy, where he visited Rome and the Riviera . From 1883 he worked as a freelance portrait and genre painter in Vienna. He mainly painted portraits of women and children, and also landscapes. His works appeared in the magazine " Die Gartenlaube ".
