Carl Freter , also Karl (born May 23, 1878 in Königlich Glugowko , Schwetz district , † after 1947) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Freter initially worked as a clerk, then worked as an office worker and in 1902 got a position as office manager at lawyers in Berlin . In addition, he was a union member and later became district manager of the office workers' association for Berlin and Brandenburg. He joined the SPD, was party secretary of the Berlin electoral associations from February 1910 to 1919, and in 1912 became head of the legal information office of the Vorwärts . From 1914 he took part in the First World War as a soldier .

Freter became a city ​​councilor in Berlin-Schöneberg in 1919 and served as district administrator of the Calau district from 1920 until he entered temporary retirement on July 27, 1932 . From 1921 to 1928 he was a deputy member of the Prussian Council of State , since 1927 a member of the Calau District Council and a member of the Brandenburg Provincial Parliament and from 1928 to 1932 and again in 1933 a member of the Prussian Landtag .

Freter had lived in Großräschen since 1932 and was arrested in Senftenberg in June 1933 after the National Socialists came to power . In 1947 he was again district administrator of the Calau district.
