Carl Friedrich Theodor Heuer (born February 13, 1785 in Greifswald , † January 13, 1854 ) was a Prussian officer and dike captain in the Oderbruch .

Life

This year 1813/14 was a volunteer hunter in the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment "Queen Victoria of Prussia" No. 2 and in 1815 was assigned as an officer to the 1st Leib-Hussar Regiment No. 1 . In 1816 he was adjutant in a Uhlan regiment in Posen . He received the Iron Cross II. Class from 1813 and the Imperial Russian Order of St. George V Class . As construction Kondukteur he was appointed on April 3, 1824. second dike inspector and had since November 1, 1830 Upper dike inspector in Wriezen .

This year played a major role in the damming of the Alte Oder near Güstebiese in 1832 and for many years was busy with the preparatory work for a plan for the improvement of the Niederoderbruch. Even if this plan later suffered some changes and Heuer was not busy with the execution of the work, the "Heuer'sche Plan" remained the basis of the work carried out from 1848 to 1859.

This year is portrayed as an extremely benevolent person who was always ready to help others, often far beyond his means. When he suddenly died of paralysis , the widow (he had married for the second time at the age of 60) was in dire straits with two underage daughters. King Friedrich Wilhelm IV granted the widow a pension of 120 thalers a year because of his merits, the dike association suspended annual support of 200 thalers until the daughters came of age. A collection among the dike comrades resulted in 1,245 thalers for the bereaved.
