Carl Göler of Ravensburg

Baron Carl Franz Ernst Göler von Ravensburg called von Brüggen (born March 17, 1827 in Karlsruhe ; † November 5, 1889 in Schatthausen ) was a German civil engineer, landlord and politician.

education

Carl Göler von Ravensburg was the son of the landlord, Grand Ducal Baden Chamberlain and member of the First Baden Chamber Carl Friedrich Freiherr Göler von Ravensburg . He attended the citizen school in Heidelberg and studied engineering at the Polytechnic School in Karlsruhe from 1844 to 1848 . There he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in 1844/45 .

Professional background

In June 1849 he passed his state examination as an engineering intern. He then worked on the construction of the railway line in German-speaking Switzerland . This was followed by further training in France , the Netherlands and Austria .

From 1856 to 1862 he worked as a civil engineer in Austria and Hungary . Due to health reasons, he returned to Germany and worked in agriculture . After the death of his father in 1868 he became the landlord of Mauer (Baden) , Schatthausen and Sulzfeld .

politics

Göler von Ravensburg was a member of the district committee of the Heidelberg district from 1865 to 1878 . He was a member of its district assembly: from 1865 to 1871 as a member of the municipalities of the Heidelberg district and from 1871 to 1878 as a district committee member and twice as a member of the aristocracy.

He was a member of the district council of the Heidelberg district from the end of the 1860s to the end of the 1880s. From 1881 to 1888 he was a member of the First Baden Chamber as one of the eight members of the manorial nobility.
