Carl Galster

Carl Galster ( December 18, 1849 in Hamburg - June 22, 1931 in Berlin-Kaulsdorf ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Galster, the son of the actor Karl Galster , worked in Hamburg in the field of the young comedian and nature boy. After having been engaged in Neustrelitz, Bremen and Riga, he came to the Deutsches Theater in Berlin in 1883, where he stayed until 1894. In that year he accepted an engagement at the Lessing Theater and two years later retired from the stage entirely.

His siblings were Caesar Galster (married to Livia Eichberger , opera singer), Georgine Galster and Adele Garsò-Galster , all of whom were also actors.

The dancers Amalie Galster (1812–1881) and Hulda Galster (1810–1874), sisters of his father, were his aunts. The dancer Paul Taglioni , married to Amalie, was his uncle by marriage and their child Maria Taglioni the Younger (1833-1891), also a dancer, was his cousin.
