Carl Goos

August Herman Ferdinand Carl Goos (born January 3, 1835 in Rønne , † December 20, 1917 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish lawyer , university professor , minister of education and justice .

Goos became Professor of Law at the University of Copenhagen in 1861 , and in 1884 he became Chief Inspector of Prisons. His academic and literary work had a formative influence on criminal procedural and criminal dogmatics in Denmark. In 1879/1880 he was rector of the University of Copenhagen. From 1880 to 1884 he was a Conservative member of the Folketing . From 1891 to 1894 he was Minister of Culture and from 1900 to 1901 Danish Minister of Justice. He was also President of the Danish Parliament from October 3, 1910 to July 20, 1914.
