Carl Gottlieb Glöckner

Carl Gottlieb Glöckner also Karl or Carolus Gottlieb (born October 28, 1744 in Arnsfeld ; † August 5, 1826 in Annaberg ), was a German Protestant theologian, master's degree and preacher on the mount.

Life

He was the son of the mountain preacher and superintendent of Annaberg Christian Gottlieb Glöckner and his wife Johanna Sophia geb. Mack. In 1763 he went to the University of Leipzig to study theology, where he also worked as a respondent in 1766 and obtained the degree of Magister. In 1772 he received the pastor's post in Arnsfeld and after 8 years was appointed mountain preacher by the mining office of Annaberg. In 1816 he celebrated his master's jubilee and received a master's degree. In 1822 he celebrated his jubilee in office and delivered his last sermon. On this occasion he was awarded the gold medal of honor and the honorary membership diploma of the Mineralogical Society of Jena. He died at the age of 82 after 54 years in office. The speech for his funeral was given by the Superintendent Dr. Lommatzsch.
