Carl Gottlieb von Kleist
Carl Gottlieb von Kleist (born January 15, 1778 in Bredstedt ; † April 26, 1849 ) was a Danish major general .
Life
origin
Carl Gottlieb von Kleist was a member of the Pomeranian noble family von Kleist and the son of the Danish major and chamberlain Christian Friedrich von Kleist (* 1743, † 1799) and Anna Margaretha von Schubarth (* 1753).
Career
Kleist had been Danish Prime Lieutenant and Adjutant in the Zeeland hunter corps since 1806 . He was promoted to major in the regiment, and ultimately held the rank of major general. From August 28, 1841 to July 1, 1842 he was in command of the Friedrichshafen Citadel . He was also a royal Danish chamberlain and holder of the Dannebrog Order .
family
Kleist married in 1806 in Dithmarschen with Margaretha Wilhelmine Caroline Jahn, daughter of Dr. med. Jahn and Charlotte Regina Götz zu Heide. The marriage remained without heirs.
