Carl Gottlieb Weigle

Carl Gottlieb Weigle (born November 19, 1810 in Ludwigsburg , † November 16, 1882 in Stuttgart ) was a German organ builder .

In 1826 he began an apprenticeship with his brother-in-law Eberhard Friedrich Walcker . Later he became the first assistant in almost all of the great organ buildings of this master, in particular the reconstruction of the Stuttgart collegiate church organ from 1837 to 1845. In 1845 he started his own business in Stuttgart.

By 1879 he had built around 100 organs. There are also renovation and repair work on various organs, such as B. 1862 on the Gabler organ of the monastery church in Weingarten . His organs also went overseas.

On January 1, 1880, he handed over his business to his son Friedrich Weigle .
