Carl Heins

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Carl Heins (born June 8, 1859 in Tangermünde , † September 10, 1923 in Berlin ) was a German pianist and composer of light salon music in the style of classical music . He wrote both solo piano works and songs. Many of his works were self-published. After his death, this publisher was sold by his widow to the publisher Fr. Portius in Leipzig.

He composed the song Zwei dunkle Augen , which the baritone Robert Leonhardt , who is considered a media pioneer , recorded on the 78 / min shellac record in October 1901 at the age of 24 . The song was later recorded by tenors such as Fritz Wunderlich , Rudolf Schock and René Kollo . His music is stylistically similar to that of his older compatriot Carl Bohm .
