Paul Großmann (chronicler)

Paul Großmann (born January 21, 1865 in Berlin ; † June 9, 1939 there ) was a German writer, poet, songwriter , local researcher, publisher and local chronicler, especially of Berlin-Mahlsdorf .

Life

When the musician Paul Lincke had his card collector - March for piano "dedicated to the inventor of postcards, Mr. Johannes Miesler " around 1920 , Großmann underlined the music with humorous texts such as "Postcard collecting is the highest sport today ..."

Paul Großmann has remained known in particular through the publication of his writings since the beginning of the Weimar Republic . In addition to chronicles of the Mahlsdorf rifle guild and the local volunteer fire brigade , he published, for example, his explanations on the Mahlsdorf street directory , which he published “with the participation of the local administration ”. In self-publishing one's own residence in Mahlsdorf, Fritz-Reuter-Straße 6, he delivered in multiple parts about a local story about Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten . This included, for example, a description of the Frankfurter Chaussee , which leads from Berlin to Frankfurt an der Oder . One of his last writings was a chronicle of the Mahlsdorf settlement of Kiekemal .

His grave is in the Mahlsdorf forest cemetery .
