Carl Irion

Carl Irion (also Karl Irion ) (born October 2, 1878 in Besigheim , † July 7, 1962 in Langen (Hesse) ) was a German engineer and racing driver .

The first-born son of the Besigheimer Küblermeister Carl August Irion and his wife Christine Heinricke geb. Müller was an engineer at Adlerwerke in Frankfurt am Main for over 40 years . On December 13, 1911, by virtue of an order from the Hessian regional president, he was officially commissioned to train drivers. Carl Irion played a key role in the development of automobiles and was one of the first men's drivers and sports racing drivers . In the early 1920s, he caused a sensation in flat, mountain and skill races.
