Carl Ludwig Daniel master

Carl Ludwig Daniel Meister (born August 14, 1800 in Detmold ; † October 15, 1877 in Hamburg ) was a Hamburg merchant and member of parliament.

Life

Master came at a young age to Hamburg, completed a commercial training and has become a great zeal and iron perseverance to a worked its highly respected position . The trading company Carl LD Meister & Co. founded by him in 1830 was liquidated with the death of his son in 1882. Meister has also been involved in trading firms in London and the West Indies . From 1832 to 1835 Meister acted as captain of the 1st company of the 3rd battalion and from 1836 to 1840 as major of the 2nd battalion of the civil military . Master held various offices within the self-government of the Sankt Jacobi parish. From 1847 until his death he was a member of the board of the Pestalozzi Foundation . He was one of the founders of this foundation and was instrumental in drafting its statutes.

Meister served as military commissioner from 1845 to 1848. He was a tax assessor from 1847 to 1852 and belonged to several deputations in the following years; including the Commerzdeputation , of which he was President in 1855.

From 1859 to 1862 Meister belonged to the Hamburg citizenship .

On April 22, 1873 he was elected senior elder in the parish of Sankt Jacobi and was a member of the senior electorate until his death.
