Carl Metzner

Carl Conrad Max Metzner (born October 12, 1846 in Prudnik , † October 27, 1909 in Prudnik) was a master craftsman and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Metzner attended the elementary and upper middle school in his hometown. He traveled for almost seven years as a craftsman in Germany, Holland, France, Switzerland and Austria and passed the master's examination as a chimney sweep with the royal government in Merseburg in 1868 and as a master mason with the building trade guild in Neustadt. Metzner was the first chairman of the crafts association in Neustadt and an honorary member of the General German and the Bavarian Craftsmen Association, as well as honorary president of the guild association for the government district of Opole . He was also a member and department chairman of the Chamber of Commerce for the government district of Opole. From 1882 to 1908 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and from 1887 to 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Oppeln District 4 ( Lublinitz , Tost-Gleiwitz ) and the German Center Party .
