Geofrey Kusuro (also written Geoffrey Kusuro ; born February 12, 1989 in Mutishet ) is a Ugandan long-distance and mountain runner .

Career

In 2007 he came in tenth place in the junior race of the Cross Country World Championships and was junior world champion at the Mountain Running World Championships in Ovronnaz .

In the following year he was eighth in the junior race of the World Cross Country Championships and fourth in the 5000 m athletics junior world championships in Bydgoszcz . He started at the Olympic Games in Beijing over the same distance , but was eliminated in the preliminary round.

In 2009 he came in 19th place at the World Cross Country Championships in Amman and failed again in the prerun at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin over 5000 m. At the mountain running world championships in Madesimo / Campodolcino (Italy) he soon became the first African world champion in the history of this competition.

In 2010 he finished 16th at the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz .
