Angela Mudge (2008)

Angela Mudge (born July 8, 1970 in Tavistock , Devon ) is a Scottish mountain and cross-country runner and is one of the world's best in her field.

Career

Mudge had defects in both legs since she was born and only discovered her sport as a postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh , where she received a Ph.D. acquired in the mid-1990s and has grown tremendously since then.

In August 1999 she won the Schlickeralmlauf , and in 2000 she won the Matterhornlauf and the Hochfellnberglauf . Internationally, she won the World Mountain Running Championships and the (World Mountain Running Trophy) women in 2000 .

In 2005 she won the World Masters Mountain Running Championships and at the World Mountain Running Championships in 2005 she finished second with the Scottish team in the group standings.
In 2006 and 2007 she won the Buff Skyrunner World Series .

She was listed on "100 things we still love about sport" by The Observer in June 2008 .
