Carl Miville senior

Carl Miville (born May 30, 1891 in Basel ; † February 27, 1981 there ; entitled to live there ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician ( SP , then PdA ).

Life

Miville studied law at the University of Basel and received his doctorate in 1914. He worked as a criminal court clerk , public prosecutor and from 1932 to 1941 as the president of the criminal court.

Miville was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Basel-Stadt from 1920 to 1941 . From 1941 to 1950 he was Councilor of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and stood in front of the Education Department and the tram being. From 1943 to 1951 he was a member of the National Council. Miville was also President of the Swiss Association of State and Municipal Personnel and the Swiss Workers' Rifle Federation .

In 1944, Miville was expelled from the SP for advocating the Labor Party. In 1949 he was excluded from the PdA, u. a. because he had criticized their increasing dependence on the Soviet Union. In the renewal elections in 1950 (government council) and 1951 (national council) he no longer ran.

His son of the same name, Carl Miville-Seiler , also became a politician.
