Carl Lauritz Mortensen (born March 2, 1919 in Oslo ; † November 1, 2005 there ) was a Norwegian sailor .
successes
Carl Mortensen, who for the Kongelig Norsk Seilforening sailed, took in 1952 at the Olympics in Helsinki in the 6 meter class part. He was a crew member of the Elisabeth X under skipper Finn Ferner , who finished the regatta in second place. With 4648 total points, they placed behind the Olympic champions on the Llanoria from the United States around skipper Herman Whiton and ahead of the Finnish boat Ralia from skipper Ernst Westerlund . Mortensen and Ferner received the silver medal like the other crew members Tor Arneberg , Johan Ferner and Erik Heiberg .
