Hong Won-chan (* 1979 in Jinhae , Gyeongsangnam-do , South Korea ) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter .

Life

Hong Won-chan released the short film The End of an Alley ( Golmok-ui Kkeut ) in 2004 , which was then shown at some film festivals. For example, in 2005 at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival in Seoul , he met director Na Hong-jin , who was there for his short film Wanbyeokhan Domi Yori ( 완벽한 도미 요리 'A perfect sea bream dish'). Hong was invited to work on the scripts for Nas films The Chaser and The Yellow Sea . This gave him an excellent reputation in Chungmuro ​​(the South Korean film industry ).

In 2015 he published his first own feature film. The Thriller Office was invited to the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival for the midnight section. In 2020, Deliver Us from Evil was an action thriller starring Hwang Jung-min and Lee Jung-jae and Park Jeong-min .
