action

Employee Kim Byeong-guk comes home one day after work and kills his family with a hammer. The police immediately begin their investigation and search for the perpetrator. The policeman Choi Jong-hun first questions his work colleagues and superiors, who all seem very surprised. Among those interviewed is intern Lee Mi-rye, who later tells the police officer that Mr. Kim was the only one who has ever been nice to her. Meanwhile, Choi's colleague finds out that Kim went back to the office after the crime, but the camera did not record him leaving, which is why they suspect he might still be in the building. Shortly afterwards, Kim kills his former colleague Jeong Jae-il. The next day the staff are convinced that Kim is the culprit and are scared. Furthermore, the company blocks the work of the police so that the company cannot be linked to the murders, since reputation is everything.

The further course of action increasingly shifts to Mi-rye, who does not have a good relationship with her colleagues and feels left out when a new intern is hired. Mi-rye works very hard, but her social skills are poor, which is why her colleagues want to suggest the new intern for the permanent position. At the end only Mi-rye, Ha-yeong and Won-seok are in the office. At around the same time, the police found Mr. Kim's body. Mi-rye throws Ha-yeong out of the window and engages in a fight with Won-seok. When they both fall together in battle, the knife digs into Mi-rye's stomach. Shortly afterwards, the police storm the office while Won-seok ignores them and does not let go of them, but instead chokes them. He is shot dead by a police officer as a result, and Mi-rye is recovering in the hospital.

The film leaves open whether Mi-rye or Kim Byeong-guk will kill the other employees. In the course of the film, however, the viewer learns that Mi-rye's neighbor has seen her in a trance-like state and thinks she is a ticking time bomb. My-rye received the kitchen knife from Mr. Kim.

criticism

Pierce Conran reviewed the film as mediocre but rock solid. He was amazed that Hong Won-chan, who wrote the screenplays for The Chaser (2008) and The Yellow Sea (2010), was not following his own script. He described Ko Ah-seong's performance as "tense," but this was made up for by her co-stars. Kim Kyu Hyun described the film as good but disappointing for viewers who expect a logical explanation, but the film is a visual feast for the eyes. The music is also good and appropriate. He also describes Ko Ah-seong's performance as good and mature.
