Johan Ferner
Johan Martin Furthermore (* 22. July 1927 in Asker as Johan Martin Jacobsen ; † 24. January 2015 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian sailor and Olympic medalist. At the Summer Olympics in Helsinki in 1952 , he won the silver medal in the 6-meter class with the boat Elisabeth X , together with his brother Finn and Erik Heiberg , Tor Arneberg and Carl Mortensen . He was married to the Norwegian Princess Astrid and thus the brother-in-law of the Norwegian King Harald V and his sister Ragnhild of Norway .
Life
His parents were the master tailor Ferner Jacobsen (1885–1964) and Ragnhild Olsen (1889–1966). In 1947 he graduated from high school. 1949–1950 he studied economics at the London Polytechnic Institute , 1950–1951 at Bradford Technical College and from 1951–1952 at the University of Lyon . This was followed by practical experience at the well-known London department store Harrods . From 1964, together with his brother Finn, he continued the family company Ferner Jacobsen founded in 1916 .
Private
Johan Furthermore was married twice. In January 1953 he married Ingeborg Hesselber-Meyer (1931–1997). The marriage remained childless and was divorced in 1956. On January 12, 1961, he married Astrid of Norway . Together they had five children: Catherine (* July 22, 1962), Benedigte (* September 27, 1963), Alexander (* March 15, 1965), Elisabeth (* March 30, 1969) and Carl-Christian (* October 22, 1965) 1972).
