Carl Parcus

Carl Johann Parcus (born December 30, 1849 in Mainz , † March 15, 1923 in Darmstadt ) was a banker and Hessian politician and member of the 1st Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Carl Parcus was the son of the banker and entrepreneur Ludwig August Parcus and his wife Margarete, nee Grebert (1829–1909). Parcus, who was of Protestant faith, married Caroline Elisabeth Gabriele born Werner on March 4, 1882 in Darmstadt (born March 16, 1855 in Mainz, † July 2, 1916 in Rottach am Tegernsee). The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Joseph August Parcus (1883–1953)
  • Georg August Arthur Parcus (* 1884)
  • Margarethe Parcus (1889–1947)
  • Carola Schüler, b. Parcus (* 1892)

Parcus was a bank director at Darmstädter Bank , a member of the supervisory board of Hessische Elektrizitäts AG and Süddeutsche Bodenkreditbank, and he continued to develop the settlement area in Darmstadt that his father had started.

From 1897 to 1918 he was President of the Darmstadt Chamber of Commerce and Industry . From 1907 to 1918 he was a member of the First Chamber of the Estates.
