Johann Friedrich Carl Refardt (born September 28, 1800 in Wulfsode ; † March 2, 1871 in Hamburg ) was a Hamburg merchant and member of parliament.

Refardt did a commercial apprenticeship in Braunschweig before he came to Altona in 1820 . In 1823 he founded the JFC Refardt company in Hamburg, which dealt with the trade in cotton yarn and linen . Since he was successful he was able to buy the properties Rödingsmarkt No. 13 and Herrlichkeit No. 22 in 1836 , both properties were so-called brewing heirs , that is, their possession enabled participation in the meetings of the hereditary citizens and the right to brew beer themselves . In 1848 he acquired the property including the garden house at Harvestehuder Weg No. 13 .

In addition to his professional activity, Refardt was involved in local and church self-government. From 1837 he was a member of the parish council of St. Nikolai and then turned hundred and eighty , from 1838 to 1843 he served as provisional of the orphanage . From 1843 to 1844 he was military commissioner, from 1848 to 1854 member of the building deputation, from 1850 to 1855, 1857 to 1858 member of the Commerz deputation , and in 1854 its chairman. In the following years he was also a member of various deputations.

Refardt belonged to the Hamburg citizenship from 1859 to 1871.

The Hamburg merchant and senator Johann Refardt (1843–1917) was his son.

In the area of ​​the family grave complex at the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg, grid square T 26 (south of Kapellenstrasse, east of Waldstrasse ), there is the inscription Johann Friedrich Carl Refardt on the tombstone of the former St. Michaelis burial site .
